Born in Atlanta, Georgia, but now resides in Savannah based artist, Xavier “Zay” Hutchins, has been honing his skills in acrylic painting while exploring different techniques for the past several years. With experience in tattooing, photography and graphic design, Xavier has used different elements from each medium to help compose his passions onto canvases, walls, skin and sneakers to name a few surfaces that he likes to create on. His personal work revolve around
the black experience, the good, the bad and the provocative. After years of progressing in his career, Xavier has relocated his studio and now is one component of 4 creative businesses under one building by the name of The Collage, with his studio providing services of his passions to create commissioned paintings, tattoos and murals for his clients. He also does live paintings during a bi-weekly open mic event in the downtown area of Savannah to help increase his exposure around the city.
